This research is conducted by using the blocks located at eight different locations with different conditions around the coast of Kang-nan, Hsin-chu. Time of the study is from June 2002 to May 2003. In order to find out the ecological property of the study region, we investigate the water quality and the biological performance around the 8 target locations and analyze the data of organisms using the similarity and the indices of diversity. The results of these analyses can be the informative to the construction of local coast. From the results of similarity, we conclude that different coastal devices results to different ecological properties and the region of study can be divided into 3 spatial distribution groups. The results also show that dominant species emerges at places with lower indices of diversity such as places with bad water quality or solarized. The resultsof the analyze of Pearson Correlation show that the 8 stations were influenced of different water qualities, for example station 4、5、6、7 were influenced of water temperature、Salt、pH、Conductivity. The study of the influences of the time of sedentary marine organisms soaked under water shows that the time of soak in water is 0.96 ~ 16.52 hours per day have better ecological effect;Even though the organisms in the cells that are closer to ground have a longer time of soak under water, but due to the influence of sand drift or sand sediment, the species of sedentary marine organisms and the amount of individual are very poor. Another topic of discussion is the influence of water depth in front of the levee with regard to the ecological effect for armored blocks, we found that places with deeper water depth in front of the levee, have greater ecological effects.
