Followed by the upgrading living standard and increasing needs of medical services for the city and suburb citizens, it is expected that the growth of medical expenditure is over 10% every year. Drived by all kinds of benefits, different forms of investment strategies have entered the healthcare area. The competition has formed in this gigantic marketplace.   Based on the enormous and aging population and the increase of health awareness, the potential medical need is up soaring. In the governmental budget, it only preserves less than 4% for medical expense. It is extremely insufficient comparing to the 14% of GDP for the medical expenditure in U.S.. When the government financial system cannot afford the medical spending, it is the needed to collect health fund by different ways to meet people’s demand. The country has already initiated the basic worker health insurance system. For strengthening the healthcare market system, the private for-profit medical entities are also permitted.   I addition to market attractiveness and investment risks, the competitive advantage is another factor needed to be considered. In entering the China’s healthcare market, the experience of healthcare and hospital management of Taiwan could help acquire more chances of success.   Through detailed analysis of China healthcare industry, and the key factors of success and failure, this research evaluates the possibility of composing a team to manage the unique competitive environment inside this industry. By studying the regulations of establishing the medical organizations in China, and the rules of the foreign investment, we intend to avoid the mistakes made in the decision making process raised from the system differences between China and Taiwan. This research also appraises the strengths, weakness, opportunity and threats (SWOT analysis) of applying Taiwan medical management experience in China’s healthcare market.   Based on the statistics of China medical service market, information of supply side and demand side of the market, and the analysis of China healthcare reform, we can find out the most potential target market and right positioning of the investment. This research tries to compose the possible proposal of building large hospitals in China. Through the analysis of competition and risk factor, the short term object is to build a large medical center in the A city in China (It could take over more than 2000 beds). The long term target will be establishing area medical networking in East China to form the franchise hospital system.   I hope this research could offer a clear market review for the people who are interested in investing in the China healthcare industry.
