There are a number of supply chain systeminitiatives can realize B2B integration. However, some of them may too restrictive to a predefined protocol. We want to introduce an agile integration solution —Business Process Execution Language for Web Services (BPEL4WS), which can let the applications fluently communicate with its business partners, and cements an alliance network in dynamic way. Collaborative Planning, Forecasting and Replenishment (CPFR) is a framework for coordinating supply chain related activities among participating partners. These coordinating mechanisms are clearly defined steps leaning to manual processing. The utility of CPFR process will be elevated if the coordinating mechanisms can be further automated. We propose to use one of initiative standards in Business Process Management — BPEL4WS to model the CPFR process. With a well-designed collaborative system, we demonstrate that much of the CPFR coordinating mechanisms are computerizable.
