碩士 === 國立中正大學 === 成人及繼續教育研究所 === 91 === The purpose of the thesis is to realize the using situation and satisfication for the old readers of Kaohsiung Muncipal Library. First of all, the researcher explores the relative library service history for the old readers to explain how important it is through literature survey. Next, the researcher combines these points to account for the influences and impact that the library service for the old has brought to library. Then, library presents most major policies and strategies on developing library services for the old. Eventually,the researcher presents the conclusion and suggestuons of the thesis. According to the literature survey, the conclusion is summarized as follows： 1.Majority old readers are people that have some characteristics. 2.the old readers are satisfied with Kaohsiung Municipal Library. 3.The reading requirement of the old readers is “entertainment”. 4.It is the most using library services to read newspapers,magaine and barrow books. 5.The old readers are interested in study circle ,lecture and exhibition. 6.Most old readers hope that library can provide library delivering service. The suggestions are as follow： 1.Suggestion towards relative institution dimensions： （1）It should provide the service that is overall, diversified and flexible. （2）Enhense the mangement of “new books” and “borrowing situation”. （3）To plan “leisure”as the major activity. （4）In enviomental design,such as air-conditioned,lightequipment,comfortable desk and chair,anti-silpped floor,convenient book ranks,clear signs and rest area bewteen the stories （5）Library Service should be propagandized. （6）To conmbine relative institutions to obtain servicing resources. 2.Suggestion for the librarians （1）To possess professional knowledge of Gerontology. （2）The librarians posess patient , careful ,passionate,auto-helped, respective attitude. 3.Suggestions to further studies： （1）It can be enlarged on the field. （2）It can be added qualitative research in the research method. （3）It can develop the effective scales on the research instiment. （4）It can be considered to add other factors in varible,such as the planning for future life and the acceptance of internet and vistual library,etc. keywords： Municipal Library, the old, using situation,satisfication.
