Abstract
The main purposes of this study were:(1)to identify the current situation of adult education literacy and radio program’s quality of broadcast staffs;(2)to explore the method to improve the program’s quality of broadcast staffs;(3)to explore the relationship between adult education literacy and radio program’s quality of broadcast staffs;(4)and to provide suggestions for radio station, broadcast staffs and broadcast administration and future research.
To achieve the purpose, a questionnaire was developed to survey on 213 broadcast staffs in Tainan and Kaohsiung area ,and 169 effective samples that were received acquired. The measuring instrument was “ The relationship between adult education literacy and radio program’s quality of broadcast staffs”. The data of questionnaires had been processed for statistical analyses under the “SPSS” statistics packaging software 8.0 for windows. The obtained data was analyzed by frequency distribution, mean, standard deviation, one-way ANOVA, and regression analysis.
This study has come up with following conclusions:
1. The broadcast staffs had superior grade adult literacy , they had strong especially in adult education attitude and ability. But adult education strongly needed promotion.
2. The broadcast staffs request high quality program, so they could keep the programs’ points before and during the program on air. However, the evaluation after the program is ignored.
3.It is significant that further education system, equipment funds and scale of radio station will influence adult education literacy and program’s quality.
4.There was significant positive correlation between the adult education attitude and program’s quality.
5.There was no significant difference between program’s funds adult education and program’s quality .
Based on the results of this study, the suggestions are presented in the following:
1.Suggestions for broadcast staffs:(1)adult education literacy should become a proactive action of professional development instead of passive in-service training;(2)adult education cognition must be reinforced.(3)evaluate the program and revise
audience feedback.
2.Suggestions for radio station:(1)build up training department and encourage staffs to have further study.(2)machinery equipment must have standard operation procedure.
3.Suggestions for broadcasting administration:(1)design training courses in accordance with broadcast staffs requirement.(2)establish specialized license system for broadcast staffs.
4.Suggestions for further research: the sample , variables, and method of the research could be further studied.
