Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立雲林科技大學 === 視覺傳達設計系碩士班 === 90 === A Typological Research of the Visual Communication and Design Category of Taiwan’s Official Exhibitions Student:Lee Pin Her Advisors:Dr.Xie Sheng Min Dr.Chen Hwai En Institute of Visual Communication Design National Yunlin University of Science & Technology Abstract It’s been thirty years that department of art design was established in national art exhibitions and provincial exhibitions. This department has recorded the development and variation of visual design works carefully and faithfully for years. This research aims to explore not only the mechanism of national and provincial art exhibitions but also the changing process of department of visual design. My research is divided into three stages. The first stage is literature review and work collection. The second stage is work classification and data recording. The last stage is to delve into the formation of visual design work’s styles in official art exhibitions by ideology, social economy and technology. The result shows that these three external elements do have a subtle relationship with the work itself, which will impact and interact on one another. This also affects the trend of visual design in each period of time. In 1970s, art works were cloaked with official style, which were affected by techniques, social culture as well as the system and the rules of art exhibitions. The selected works were concealed with the functions of “demonstration” and “promotion and education”. Moreover, they demonstrated aesthetic style in and policy-oriented sample to people. From 1980s, visual design has gradually matured. Most of the advertisements were regarding commerce, education and social image. A design of identification system was formed at this period of time. Furthermore, from 1990s till now, the techniques of visual design have been demonstrated in the way of copy and image compound by application of computer technology. With infinite and diversified materials, art works start to reflect the impact of society, environment, culture and races. Additionally, those works carry visual words with strong personal characters. It indicates that people are getting more knowledge about the field of visual design. Key words: visual design, official exhibition, history of design, provincial exhibition.
