However, the plasticizer, one component of plastics, may migrate to food or release into the environment during the process of use or disposal. In the recent years, many countries have already classified the plasticizers- DEHA, DBP, BBP, DEHP, DOP- as estrogen-like substances which may disturb the endocrine system. The aim of this study is to investigate the migration of plasticizers in plastic packages, cups, bowls, films and bottles by means of treating them with different conditions, including temperature, pH, storage time and microwaving time. This study analyzed 122 samples, in composition of 48 plastic bags, 26 plastic cups and bowls, 24 plastic films and 24 plastic bottles. The percentages of detectable plasticizers in all analyzed samples were 50% of PVC films, 41.7% of bags, 7.7% of plastic cups and bowls and 0% of plastic bottles. The detected rates for the five plasticizers in different types of plastic products were 33.3% of DBP, 14.6% of DEHP and 8.3% of DEHA in plastic bags. And, for plastic cups and bowls, the detected rate was 7.7% for DBP. The detected rates for the plastic film were 29.2%, 20.8% and 8.3% for DEHP, DBP and DEHA, respectively. None of plasticizers in plastic bottles was detectable. The results also showed that DEHP and DBP were the highest two plasticizers while BBP and DOP were not detected in this study. The highest level of DEHA and DEHP were 2.964g/dm2 and 0.327g/dm2, respectively, which were found in the samples of plastic films. The result also showed that plasticizers in distilled water with pH=7 were more easily be migrated than those with pH=3. The distilled water with higher temperature was more easily to release plasticizers. The results of our study also provide information of choosing proper plastic materials and the usage of the plastic products for consumers. We also offer our government with reference to regulate the migration of plasticizers in the food packaging. Mei-Lien Chen I-Fang Mao 陳美蓮 毛義方 2002 學位論文 ; thesis 66 zh-TW
