Description
Summary:碩士 === 大同大學 === 工業設計研究所 === 90 === In order to assure the sustainable growth of the earth, one of the major targets is to reduce the quantity of garbage and recycle the resources; efficient resource recycle methods are the major means of achieving such a goal. Further, resource recycling in public places is still far from being satisfactory, This study attempts to find out the reason for recycling inefficiency in public places, in order to present effective methods. The research investigated two major areas: the present conditions of resource recycling in public places and the icon and color of resource recycling devices. To investigate the condition, this study employs questionnaires to analyze resource recycling in the Greater Taipei Area. In addition, we employed telephone interviews to find out the present condition concerning resource recycling and related regulations in other counties and cities. Investigation of the color and icon design of resource recycling, was conducted through a questionnaire. Eventually, the researcher checked the findings against real life situations. The result indicates that the icon, design, and function of the recycling cans are different from place to place. Moreover, the major resources recycled fall into seven major categories: waste paper, plastic bags, polythene, retort pouches, PET bottles, aluminum cans, and glass bottles. The icons collected in three stages are as follows: (garbage in general), (waste pager), (plastic bag), (polythene), (retort pouch), (PET bottle), (aluminum can), and (glass bottle). As to icons, this study employed Durbin statistics method to yield the result of the colors representing each type of renewable refuse. The colored icons were verified at Taipei Children Recreation Center and Dynasty Theatre. The result indicates that the colored icons can highly elevate the recycling rate.
