碩士 === 臺北巿立體育學院 === 運動科學研究所 === 90 === Abstract This study aims at discussing the development of the reward system of Kung-kong and Chung-cheng since its inception 21 years ago and its merits and side effects to the athletes and coaches. Mainly by deep study on a few historical documentations, this essay was completed after a long period of study on governmental files, minutes, reports, through collection, analysis, verification and consolidation. The conclusions of this essay are as follows: 一、The system of Kung-kong and Chung-cheng reward since its inception till now, can be divided into 5 periods：1980-1984 years of inception, 1985-1989 years of phase I, 1990-1992 years of phase II, 1997-1998 years change of sports authority, 1999-2002 years of phase III. The regulation of these rewards have been amended six times. 二、The purpose of Chung-cheng reward is to encourage athletes who break national record, Asian Games record. However, athletes take chance by winning prize money instead of winning glory in international competitions, the reward of breaking record has finally come to an end while kung-kong reward becomes main stream of our reward system. 三、It is essential to encourage athletes and coaches by high prize money as reward while materialization misleads the performances of the athletes and the coaches, which twisted the good will of the reward system. 四、It is suggested that assistance of the athletes in their future career is long-term target. 五、It is approved by all to transmit the prize money directly to athletes’ account instead of transferring to the associations. It is hoped that the result of this study can serve as reference for the establishment of reward system in the future. Key words：Reward, Kung-kong Sports Medal Reward, Chung-cheng Sports Medal Reward
