Summary:碩士 === 臺北市立師範學院 === 國民教育研究所 === 90 === The purpose of this study was to explore the actual situation and satisfaction of parental participation in school affairs in the Taipei public schools and to analyze the differences of actual situation and satisfaction on different parental background variables in school affairs participation. The study was based on questionnaire survey. A questionnaire sheet “The Actual Situation and Satisfaction Scale of Parental participation in School Affairs in Taipei Public Schools” was used as the tool of primary research in obtaining pertinent data of actual situation and satisfaction of parental participation in school affairs in the Taipei public elementary schools. A total of 748 valid responses were obtained from 1136 people of the survey. The data was analyzed and presented by frequencies, mean, standard deviations, t-test, and one-way ANOVA. Conclusions from the analysis are inducted as follows: 1. Generally speaking, parents of the Taipei public elementary schools have medium performance rating on “direct participation” in school affairs and have better performance rating on “indirect participation” in school affairs. 2. In “direct participation” in school affairs, parents have a better performance rating on “class-parents affairs” and medium performance rating on “parental volunteers’ affairs.” Items of “the school parental association affairs” and “inter-school parental organization affairs” received a rating of improvement needed. 3. In “indirect participation”, item “teaching children how to learn at home,” received a best performance rating. “being informed to participate in activities” and “accepting and transmitting school information.” received a better performance rating. 4. The highest satisfaction of parental participation in school affairs was “administration leadership” and “teacher-parent interaction;” secondary satisfaction was “career development” and “social relationship;” and the lowest satisfaction was “participation in the environment.” 5. Parental participation in school affairs varies with different individual background variables. 6. The satisfaction of parental participation in school affairs varies with different individual variables. 7. The satisfaction of parental participation in school affairs varies with “direct participation” in school affairs and also varies with the different time in “direct participation” in school affairs. 8. The satisfaction of parental participation in school affairs varies with “involvement of direct participation in school affairs” Based on the findings and conclusions above, workable measures and suggestions for educational administrations, institution of school administration, parents and further research are proposed in this study.
