Description
Summary:碩士 === 臺北市立師範學院 === 音樂藝術研究所 === 90 === Subtitled “ Fantasie,” Kreisleriana Op.16 was composed in four days in April of 1838 by the 19th century Romantic composer Robert Schumann (1810~1856). Consisting of a set of eight pieces, the title of this work is a reference to Kapellmeister Kreisler, the fictitious crazy and eccentric character in E.T.A. Hoffmann’s novel. Except for the first piece and the seventh piece which is in d and c minor respectively, the rest pieces of this set are based on the tonality of B flat major or g minor. In terms of form, except for the fourth and the sixth ones which are both in AB binary form, the rest pieces are in ABA ternary form or in ABACA rondo form. With the use of Tonic, Supertonic, Mediant, Dominant tones as the melodic motif, this composition embodies a wide variety of mood change. Besides, Schumann involves enharmonic interval modulation as well as fugue and unique rhythmic patterns to bring out the richness and abundance of musical possibility. The investigator thus chooses Schumann’s Kreisleriana as the focus of the recital report, with the hope that through a closer examination of the genre, the related literature and the analysis of this set of eight pieces, she can project correctly the musical spirit and compositional intensions of this work
