However, the framework of SCM has become more complicated because of technology progress and fierce market competition.
A company’s strategy decision on supply chain strategy decides how to structure the supply chain framework. This decision is typically made for the long term and is very expensive to make difference on short time period. Therefore, the strategy decision will affect the supply chain performance for a long lasting time. In this thesis we try to develop a new model to deal with the decision problem of supply chain strategy. Unlike the previous researches, we consider how to assist company to face risks in an uncertain environment to construct their supply chain framework. The model using the concept of "Conditional Value-at-Risk" chases the optimal decision under risk control to assist business to design an efficient and stable strategy plan. Our model in a case study shows that it can provide a more robust supply chain strategy design than the others. Prevent the risk of demand overestimate on underestimate.
