Summary: | 碩士 === 淡江大學 === 國際事務與戰略研究所 === 90 === There are two main issues that are often ignored in the military security dimension, one is Revolution in Military Affairs, RMA, the other is PRC’s military power. From Gulf War to Kosovo War, the western high-tech power demonstrates and forming a trend. This trend also fosters the concept and conduct of military strategy and makes dramatic changes all over the world. China explicitly makes her policy as the purpose of national defense and force development to protect sovereign and state integrity. Furthermore, by observing the transition of international security environment, China also points out, noninterventionism, hegemonism and gun-ship policy will affect her integrity. Therefore, the military researcher worry about most underestimation of intention and determination of Chinese military modernization. What we care most curiously is the chemical combination of Chinese military modernization and RMA and its capability and consequences.
The dissertation takes “document analysis” approach as the method in order to collect Chinese government, press, PLA and scholars’ papers to analysis. This dissertation is composed of six chapters as following:
Chapter 1: Introduction.
Chapter 2:Transition of use of force thinking and Chinese military strategy
Chapter 3:The practical conduction of Chinese military modernization in the Post-Cold War Era
Chapter 4: The factor which affects Chinese use of force in the Post-Cold War Era
Chapter 5: The principle and model of Chinese use of force in the Post-Cold War Era
Chapter 6:The security relations between Asia-pacific area and Chinese use of force model under military modernization
Chapter 7: Conclusion.
Finally, there are some conclusions drawn from this dissertation:
1. Chinese military modernization development is capable to supply options of PLA’s use of force.
2. The present goal of Chinese military modernization is stepping forward “fighting America and occupying Taiwan”
3. Nowadays, PLA has no capability to last a high-tech regional war.
4. China has sufficient deterrent capability.
