Based on the relative displacements between the pile and the soils, the solutions of the structural deformations are obtained decomposing the analysis into two steps, proceeded with a free-field solutions of the site from the lumped mass analysis and a pile response solution from the wave equation analysis. The soil springs along the pile are calculated from the p-y curves. They are implemented with the transformed dampers to model the seismic forces. The effects of the pile-to-pile interaction and the cap are both considered. Validation of the analysis are made with the FEM solutions. The observation are summarized as follows:(1)The free-field motions of the soils are successfully modeled though the lumped mass analysis.(2)3~5 sublayers to divide the physical soils are found suitable for the lumped mass analysis.(3)The proposed two-step analysis can provide compatible results with the FEM ones.(4)The seismic response of the single pile and the grouped piles are mainly dominated by the ground motions.(5)The pile displacements are found smaller at stiffer sites.(6)The maximum grouped piles displacements are more affected by the size of the foundation at smaller earthquakes.(7)The boundary conditions are insignificant in affecting the seismic pile response.
