The first thing of the new rolling stocks landing in Taiwan, the railway company have to do some testing work for the train performance, it always spends a lot of money and wastes time. If we can develop a simulation program instead of it, it will be a good way for the railway company to save time and money.
Train performance is the foundation of rail system planning, scheduling, and traction power analysis. In this paper we present our analysis of train dynamics for Taiwan Railway’s Push-Pull trains. Then we develop a train performance simulation program using Matlab/simulink. Field measurements from routine operation are used to validate the accuracy and effectiveness of our mathematical model and simulation program.
