碩士 === 慈濟大學 === 教育研究所 === 90 === The first purpose of this study is to investigate the practice of elementary schools’ homeland study curriculum. The second purpose is to analyze the textbook’s content of “Homeland Education CurriculumⅡ” in Hualien. To achieve the main purpose above, this study conducts the methods of literature review, content analysis, interviews and interview by telephone. The following findings are emerged from this study: 1. In terms of themes, the textbooks need more instruction medium. 2. In terms of themes, the textbooks have large proportion of local geography. 3. In terms of the lessons styles, the textbooks have largest proportion of narration. 4. In terms of the pictures, the textbooks have to improve. 5.The school authority school support the homeland study curriculum. 6.County Education Board should support the homeland study curriculum . 7.As a whole the teachers’ ability of homeland study curriculum should be increase. According to the findings, some suggestions can be provided in the study for the field of homeland curriculum development in the future.
