碩士 === 世新大學 === 經濟學系 === 90 === Economists find multiple features when they observe business cycles in different ways. This research tried to inspect Taiwan’s business cycles in four ways. First, use stage analysis method to look for the stage process of Taiwan’s business cycles, second, use 3P method to analyze the pronounced、pervasive and persistent properties in Taiwan’s economy, third, use Sichel’s method to examine the asymmetry property, finally, use Neftci’s method to find out the turning points of business cycles. The results of this study showed that the stage process of Taiwan’s business cycles is somewhat different than that of American business cycles. They also show that asymmetry exists in some indexes. Finally, according to the analysis results, we can almost be sure that the peak of 10th business should have appeared, but it takes more evidence to make sure the position of the trough.
