碩士 === 實踐大學 === 企業管理研究所 === 90 === 　　In the decade, our conditions of higher education have changed very much. The need of people has grown year by year. In this case, attaching importance to research and rear qualified personnel is an important business all universities care about. 　　According to the financial sheet from 1998 to 1999 of the 58 privately owned universities, we apply the DEA（Data Envelopment Analysis，DEA）method to measure the financial efficiency of each universities. And establish financial index, including the output and input index. 　　We apply the DEA method to measure efficiency and find the source of inefficiency is either technical inefficiency or scale inefficiency. The last, using slack variable analysis to improve efficiency. 　　The empirical result shows that in the 58 sample universities, lots of universities is inefficient in the financial efficiency and must still improve their efficiency.
