Summary:碩士 === 靜宜大學 === 青少年兒童福利研究所 === 90 === This research of survey is intended to study fathers’ participation in elementary school children’s relevant life and learning activities.There are 439 valid samples they are fathers of two elementary school children from Chin-Shuai town, Taichung County. A self-constructed questionnaire was used as researchful tool in the present present study. After statistical analysis, the results are as follow: It is a survey research by using the self-constructed “Fathers’ participation in elementary school children questionnaire”. Fathers whose children are studying in elementary school are sampled. Ⅰ、The study of the basic variables of children and the situation of fathers’ participation: 1、According to children’sgrade and gender, fathers participating in higher grades are higher than lower grades. 2、The diversity of homework assitantance and fathers’ signature exist obviously between different children’s order. 3、Condering the amount of children, father’s who have one child sign on their kids transcripts are more frequent than those who have more children. Ⅱ、The study of the basic variables of parent’s and the situation of fathers’participation. 1、 Fathers who are above 41 years old participate in the signings of transcripts and communicational note are frequenter than those fathers who are 31-40 years old. 2、 As to education,those fathers who have college or junior college educational backgrounds participate in their kids activities are more than those who have poorer educational resources. 3、 Those semi—professional fathers participating in relative learning activities are more than professional ones. Those higher—professional and semi—professional and technical fathers participating in life--caring are more than non—technical ones. 4、Those fathers who are much busy on their work shows less willing in helping their children with their homework,comparing with those who are not so much busy. 5、Fathers’ deal with working after office influences fathers’ participation in chatting with children on holiday. 6、Mothers who have differental occupations will influence the fathers’participations in teaching children how to deal with pocket money and interpersonal relationship. Ⅲ、The study of relationships between fathers and children and situations of fathers’ participations: 1、Fathers and children live together for 5 to 7 days a week, while fathers participation will become higher. 2、While fathers and children get together with each other more than 3 hours during each day, fathers participation will become higher.While fathers and children get together with each other for 6-12 or even more than 13 hours during holidays, fathers participation will become higher. 3、If couples get along with children less than 6 hours or more than 6-12 hours, even above13 during holidays,they will have more participation in deciding the way of child--caring. 4、While fathers and children get along well, fathers participation will become higher. 5、While children are very important to fathers, fathers participation will become higher. Ⅳ、The relationships between closeness and fathers’ participations: 1、Fathers’ participations in childrens’ learning activities, recreational activities, social life, chatting opportunities, life—skill teaching, guidance of emotion and behavior and parenting knowledge, will have postive relation with closeness. That means the more the fathers participate, they will have closer intimacy with their children.
