It is divided into five chapters as following: The first chapter, the guidance, includes the motivations, objectives, methods, and the range of this research. The second chapter, the basic theory of dexterous fingering patterns, contains a basic guide and introduction on dexterous fingering patterns. As the author personally practiced for a long time, she provides some suggestions and commands on the theory in simple yet captivating terms. The third chapter, the comparison on dexterous fingering patterns and traditional octave symmetry patterns, firstly includes what the traditional patterns are, then offers her notes on the limitation of the traditional patterns and the breakthroughs of dexterous patterns. She also presents some practical examples of musical contexts for a basic analyze and comparison. The fourth chapter, the analyze and interpretation of Weichien Hsieh’s Zheng music for her Recital ― the application and fulfillment of dexterous fingering patterns theory, includes some Zheng music, such as Jing-gang Mountain, Tiger Hunting, Mon Mountain, and Luan People Dancing respectively. She analyses these four pieces on how they are adapted and composed based on dexterous fingering patterns, and proposes her musical analyze on her personal performance and practice. The fifth chapter, the influence of dexterous fingering patterns to contemporary Zheng music, is a conclusion of this thesis. The author firstly observed the development and trends of this genre through the creation and composition of it, then discusses her understanding on that. Therefore, the theory of dexterous fingering patterns is one of the trends in the development of contemporary Zheng music. The result of this research is that ― dexterous fingering patterns provide the multiple development of this genre’s composition. This theory is not a substitution of traditional patterns, but an alternative way provided for Zheng music composers. And it will be one of the trends in the development of this genre. 樊慰慈 王海燕 張儷瓊 2002 學位論文 ; thesis 121 zh-TW
