碩士 === 中國文化大學 === 建築及都市計畫研究所 === 90 === Abstract In order to achieve the ideal of gross community construction , the Council of Cultural Affairs put emphasis on the spirit of community museums in 1998 to mold the local characteristics, to concentrate the community consciousness, to encourage the public to take part in community activities and to realize the self-government of locality─the four main goals. The chief work is to establish topic showrooms, local historic halls and Cultural halls and performance space, so that the public can understand their community, take part in activities and have places for them to learn for life. However, only hard facilities can not feature the inner spirit of community museum , which stresses the record of cultural passage ,the exhibition of multi-value , the concern of common people. It also emphasizes local ecology, survival, living , the evolution of production environment and protection of history. With the idea of learning for life and discovering one’s hometown, the nuclear museum will be developed into an administration and information center. Besides, satellite museums will educate people by demonstration and illustration. In this way, people not only pay attention to hard facilities, but also put stress on the adjustment of local resources. Traditionally, people think that all the exhibition should be shown in the building, but now things have changed . Everything in the community has its story and its origin. In fact, to discover the community is to learn. For the time being, there are many such cases abroad and domestically；for example, Pie-to Hot Spring Museum, In-Koa Earthen China Museum, Nau-yu Ecology Museum, Japan Street-Made Plan, France Ecology Museum, England Community Museum, America Neighborhood Museum, and so on. Therefore, we try to study the cases in order to find out the activity characteristics and operation of community museums. Thus, we sincerely hope that we can help to promote the development of community museums.
