Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 營建工程系 === 90 === This study presents an experimental investigation of reinforced concrete corbels, with a/d larger than unity, subjected to vertical forces. Twenty-four specimens were tested to study the effects of concrete strength , area of primary tension reinforcement , and shear span-to-depth ratio on ultimate shear strengths of corbels. Test results in this study indicate that the ultimate shear strengths of corbels predicted by Mattock’s proposals【1】 are quite conservative. The design recommendations contained in Section 4.6.3 of PCI Design Handbook【2】 may, however, overestimate the ultimate shear strengths of corbels with a/d larger than unity. Based on test results, the design recommendations proposed in this study can more reasonably predict the shear strengths of high-strength concrete and normal-strength concrete corbels with a/d larger than unity.
