It can be used in passive seismic dissipation device. This study proceeds a series of tension test, shear test and fatigue test to study the characteristic of low yield strength steel. Each specimen was tested under different level of strain rate to study the effect of strain rate on the characteristic of low yield strength steel. The findings were obtained: (1)the higher strain rate, the greater yield strength, ultimate strength and yield ratio will be respond; (2)the strain hardening behavior of shear teat were more conspicuous than the tension test. In the end of this thesis, we make use of the result of test to calculate the strain-hardening ratio of low-yield-point Energy Absorption.
