Because these types of houses could not satisfy the various needs of the householder, many inhabitants tend to refurnish their homes after purchase. This not only causes the increase of waste after tear down, but also results in the problem squander of architectural resources. In the light of this, this research proposes the “Two-Stage Housing” which is delivered in two separate phases, the main structure and the interior unit. This attempt is to simplify the items of furnishings when a house is delivered and proceeds to investigate its feasibility of supply methods. The major purpose of this research is to carry out an analysis on feasibility. Research methods are as of following: 1.Interview experts on the feasibility issue of the Two-Stage housing supply method in order to examine its problem of possibility. 2.Analyze the cost and benefit of furnishing in order to evaluate its competitive ability. 3.Investigate the degree of acceptance of the Two-Stage housing supply method among residents in order to evaluate its feasibility to execution. Synthesizing the results of three investigations, this research believes that there is potential to the Two-Stage housing supply method under present housing market conditions in our country. Research discovers that cost is a main consideration factor in the process of buying and furnishing a house for local people. Moreover, the action of altering the standard plan in order to satisfy particular spatial needs also emerged. Research reveals that traditional method of interior furnishing operated with the Two-Stage housing supply method can decrease ten percent of total furnishing costs and has the high acceptance and support of residents (over eighty percent). It also satisfies the flexibility of various residents needs and also reduces unnecessary production of waste and squander of resources. Its truly has potential. However, there are several problems to solve in order to carry out the Two-Stage housing supply method at this phase: for example, without professional ability, the resident may encounter some problems in the process of self-furnishing; the residents may have to suffer long periods of construction, safety, noise, and problems of maintenance.
