Products of PDP have come to our real life, though, it needs some improvement to be popularized-that is, to reduce its cost that most common people care about. This dissertation demonstrates how a scan IC woks and where it stands in the PDP display system. It first shows how a scan IC be consisted of-block by block. The most important part of the scan IC, level shifter, will be discussed separately, for there are three different schemes studied and compared here to accomplish the “level shifting” task. Each of them will be analyzed, then simulated to show realistic waveforms. Speed, power consumption, and size are the core of the discussion-one of the three schemes will be chosen to form the whole circuit according to these three considerations. Under the circumstance of fair “speed” situation, the scheme that is picked up will take the advantage of much less power consumption over the other two, and perform equally well in “size”.
