Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 土木工程學研究所 === 90 === Due to the 921 Chi-Chi earthquake disaster, seismic safety assessment of buildings has become one of the hottest issues recently. Every time when people encounter serious disasters, school buildings usually offer refugees temporary homes to stay. Therefore, the safety of school buildings is very important. Expert systems are useful in business and industrial environments due to a variety of applications. But knowledge acquisition is the bottleneck in building expert systems. This study aimed at applying data mining technique to overcome the bottleneck of knowledge acquisition in constructing an expert system for safety assessment of school buildings. Decision trees are extracted from the safety assessment of school building cases through the data mining process. They are then converted into If-Then rules and that can be reviewed and utilized by the domain experts and knowledge engineers to build the knowledge bases for expert systems.
