Public works with high quality are symbol of modernization of a country or society. In the meanwhile, they are the linchpin to preserve public security and people’s welfare. To create high quality for public works , technique is surely needed. Besides, under the systems for quality control during construction process, material testing can present the most obvious effect of engineering quality.
The aim of this research is to analyze the frequent testing items in road and bridge construction. Although accreditation is an effective tool in management, it still needs to be limited is some way. Finally, though the actual example about “Ta Chih Bridge Abuse”, it is expected that technical abilities and capabilities of laboratories can be fully exerted to raise construction quality.
