Many people died and lots of buildings、bridges and infrastructures damaged in this earthquake and caused billions of economic loss. It is very important for government to be well prepared for future earthquake and be able to make the recovery activities decision right after the earthquake to reduce property damage and economic loss or prevent life loss. Keelung harbor, which is located near the capital, Taipei city, is an important international harbor of Taiwan. Because of the prosperous development of international trade and the increasing growth of container transportation industry, the tax revenue from all of international harbor has been the most important source of tax revenue in this country. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the earthquake damage of harbor structure, and used the Keelung harbor as the case study. By using the geology drilling data, fault strike site, quay structural design data…, etc., this paper analyze the damage of Keelung harbor quay when subjected to different quake scale rupture cause, and the results will be useful for other harbor quay earthquake analysis and design. The results and conclusions or suggestions of this research will be helpful for future earthquake loss estimation of Keelung harbor. It will also useful for the future mitigating the possible consequences of earthquakes and help recovery and reconstruction of the whole Keelung harbor after the earthquake.
