Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣師範大學 === 工業教育學系在職進修碩士班 === 90 === The major purpose of this study is to compare the achievement of students admitted via screening and recommendation entrance systems with that of students via other means of admittance. Thus it can serve as a reference for the authority concerned to make up improving policy, for schools to decide the student-ratio of various entrance ways, for counselors to enhance their instruction on students, and for students to choose the way they’ll utilize. Using descriptive approach, the first step of this study is to review the literature of assessment on multiple entrance ways. Next, it collects the grades of sample students who entered Taoyuan Agricultural and Industrial Vocational High School via screening and recommendation, application, and entrance exam in 86༯ academic years. Their performance in school and JCEE were analyzed by T-test and ANOVA, plus interviews and the percentage of getting B-class certificate. The conclusions are as follows: The T-test of the academic achievement among students of multiple entrance ways shows no significant difference. Their acquisition percentage of B-class certificate is almost the same. The results of interviews resemble those of statistics. Only that, from interview, the students admitted via screening and recommendation get a bit better grades in the field of intelligence and practice. Their learning strategies are more dynamic and their English grades in JCEE are much higher. Depending on the previous results, the researcher made suggestions to students, parents, schools, and education administrative executives.
