It can be explained that we look at it from “motive - operation ” and “purpose - method ”. We mean the word “social activity” in the study:social activity have always be taken in all kinds of human society. Social members or groups who reach the purposes including of legalizing or striving for political power , economical interchanging natural resources and materials , innotiving and creativing culture , carry out socialization,etc. all of those aims to take activity. The Tainan society before the Japanese Colonial Period, ”tradition” have its authority to help constructing social order. Temples have stood the most important position in the development of Tainan society. People surrounded temples to take social activity of the year agenda. It is what we called ”folk society”. In the Japanese Colonial Period, Japanese government have intended to put its political system,life habits and values , behavior pattern ,and religion faith system into the colony people in order to reach the purpose of “keep society under control”. Before reaching the purpose of keeping society under control , “keep society change” is necessary. It can be said that the work is teach colony people transform new citizens. The method of the “transferability” is direct new life style and social activity. The Tainan Assembly Hall is one of the facilities of the colonization. The one hand of the Tainan Assembly Hall is teach colonial people transform new citizens , while the other hand, Tainan citizens could get new ideas and thinking through the Tainan Assembly Hall. We can also construct the face of the Tainan society in the Japanese Colonial Period by analyzing the social activity of the Tainan Assembly Hall.
