Abstract
The purpose of this research was to investigate the elementary school teachers’network literacy, attitudes and network usage. Besides, this study explored teachers’background as independence variables to compare the difference of teachers’network literacy and attitude. According to the literature analysis, it helps researcher to develop the survey questionnaire and design research framework. In the survey poll, the questionnaire entitled “The elementary school teachers’network literacy, attitude and network usage” is treated with reliability and the construct validity. Questionnaires were delivered to 810 teachers in the public elementary school in Tainan county and Tainan city. There were 568 valid samples. The conclusion of the study summarized as follows:
1. As a whole, elementary school teachers had fairly positive attitudes toward network.
2. The variables of gender, age, position, the years spend in teaching, educational background and time of contact on network had significant difference in teachers’ network attitudes.
3. As a whole, the network literacy of the teachers in elementary school were above the average level, most of them are network literacy full group.
4. The variables of gender, age, position, the years spend in teaching, educational background and time of contact on network had significant difference in teachers’ network literacy
5. There was significant correlation between elementary school teachers’attitudes and literacy toward network.
Beside, the research is also focused on using the condition of the computer network by elementary school teachers and understanding the difficulties in this case. Finally, there were some advises for elementary school teachers, school administration organizations, educational administration organizations and suggestions to further researches.
