This investigation concentrates on students’ active learning and exploring living experiments by the STS teaching mode. Investigator hopes to strengthen the scientific knowledge of students during the active searching of data, at the same time, intends to train students’ abilities of observing and discussing of the natural phenomenon, in addition to develop the abilities of solving problems. Investigator truly combines present educational policy — the idea of contents of elementary school nine-year courses: Let students keep the idea in mind instead of saving the knowledge in books.
Damage of typhoon is a challenge to Taiwan. Well prevention of typhoon can protect our life. Investigator hopes students can response the idea of living environment and find fun of learning from the starting point of everyone’s living experiment. Continuous learning becomes funny and more significant.
According to the conclusion of the investigation: 1.Students have higher interest of learning 2.Students become sensitive to living environment. 3.Questions become variable. 4.Students can cooperate mutually to increase the width of thinking by group-discussion. 5.Students can tell their parents the idea of prevention of typhoon through the practice. 6.Students get further understanding of idea and phenomenon of typhoon. 7.Students were active learning during the learning exercise. 8.The interaction of teacher and students is positive and mutual in the teaching exercise.
From the investigation, we explored that students are interested in learning of living subject, at the same time, share the experiments and cooperative learning in group-discussion. Through the dynamic courses, we can cultivate students’ active and positive idea to prevent typhoon.
