Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立台北護理學院 === 護理研究所 === 90 === The purpose of this phenomenological study was to explore the experience of health examination among the elderly. From November 2001 to May 2002, subjects were purposely chosen from one city hospital in Taipei and community. Sixteen subjects from age 69-81 were in-depth interviewed. All subjects have attended health examination in recent 3 years. Each interview was tap-recorded with a semi-structured interview guideline, followed by taking subject’s basic information. Each interview lasted at least 1 hour, and the subject’s non-verbal behaviors were noted during interview. Verbatim transcripts were analyzed by using the Colaizzi’s phenomenological approaches. The results revealed three themes:(1) uncertainty (2) hard and rugged (3) benefit and limitation. The results provide the understanding of the experience of health examination among the elderly and references of designing staff education program, environment and process and health education materials.
