Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立台北護理學院 === 護理研究所 === 90 === Abstract World Health Organization set 2000 as Year of Balanced Health of the whole people. It''''''''s aimed that the modern health care should emphasize the holistic care rather than only treatment of diseases. Due to the social and economic development, people''''''''s life is prolonged. However, that who has long life does not necessarily lives well. Therefore, "quality of life" is regarded as an important criterion of modern health care. Meanwhile, the topic of "quality of life" is more and more valued by the masses. The climacteric period is a "health-changeable period" (Zao, 1998) for women and plays an important role in the second half of female life. The present research is aimed to investigate the related factors influencing the female climacteric period. Moreover, the research is based upon 203 valid questionnaires (conducted by interviews from January to May 2002) on opinions and attitudes of 45- to 60-year old climacteric women in Si-Lin District of Taipei. Investigation instruments include: "Evaluation Sheet for Menopause", "Scale of Social Support", "Scale of Community Participation" and "Scale of Life Quality". The applied statistical methods contains: descriptive statistics, t-test of independent samples, variance analysis of single factor, Fischer''''''''s comparison, Pearson''''''''s product difference, correlation and multiple regression. Results of the research can be concluded as follows: 1. Personal features of interviewees: Most are married, graduated from elementary schools and in the last phase of menopause. Over 40% of the interviewed have suffered from menopause symptoms, over 90% have taken Pap Smear Test, over 40% don''''''''t suffered from any chronic diseases and over half have never used hormone tablets. The main sources of information about the climacteric period are friends and colleagues. Over half have positive attitude toward the menopause. 2. Menopausal symptoms: Most are suffered from dry skin, wrinkles, insomnia and dry vagina. The symptom of the whole interviewees is "light" on average and has a negative correlation to the life quality. 3. Social support: Most get support from their children. The support frequency, in order from the most to the less, is from "sometimes" to "often". The behaviors of the social support, in order from the most to the least, are as follows: emotional support, evaluation support, real support and information support. The social support increases in direct proportion with the educational level, the employment status, the harmony of marital life and the amount of available money. The social support has a positive correlation to the life quality. 4. Community participation: The community participation increases in direct proportion with the health type and the educational level. The community participation of most interviewees is in the middle level on average. The participation depth, in order from the most to the least, is as follows: the involving level, the passive attendance level, the active attendance level and the control level. The community participation level has a positive correlation to the life quality. 5. Life quality: The involved fields with the life quality of the interviewees, in order from the most to the least, are as follows: the physical health, the environmental field, the social relationship and the psychological field. The life quality of whole interviewees is in the middle level on average. The most unsatisfied fields are: "Do you enjoy your life?" and "Do you have enough available money?" 6. Important factors to predict quality of life: are chronic diseases, community participation level, social support from husband, menopause symptom and amount of available money, The validity is 21.6%,24.7%,27.5%,9.7﹪and22.5%variance. According to the above-mentioned results of the research, it''''''''s to recommend that the professional community workers conduct preventive action for women before their climacteric period, help them to establish relationship and provide them with opportunities to join the community activities, thereby improving their life quality in the future life.
