In order to successfully deliver the multimedia information, the network usually needs to reserve resource in advance to guarantee high network bandwidth and short delay during transmission. How to effectively manage the network resources to provide such guaranteed services is a key to the success in network operation. The purpose of this study is to develop a resource reservation framework, termed the multicast resource management system (MRMS), for facilitating the analysis on the resource requirement in a multicast environment, which in turn improves the resource utilization. MRMS basically relies on a communication-paradigm (CP) graph model to characterize the resource sharing relationship among participants and applies a set of theories for translating the CP graph into the reservation requests, which will be carried out by specific resource reservation mechanisms. Currently, MRMS has been implemented in a network supporting the resource-reservation protocol (RSVP). Sheau-Ru Tong 童曉儒 2002 學位論文 ; thesis 83 zh-TW
