Hopefully, be the reference of teaching and designing curriculum for elementary school teachers. The subjects of this study were 65 forth and 67 sixth grade students, analyzed the realization of the students’ spatial conception by percentage statistics after the multiple-choice test, generalized the though after the opening test for earth motion. Then, interviewed 8 forth and 8 sixth grade students and analyzed the alternative and spatial conception on earth motion referred to the illustration for the earth motion and spatial conception. The analysis of the data revealed the following main conclusions and suggestions: 1. For the situation of the spatial conception: the sixth grade students were maturer than forth in direction, distance, and rotation. Both are the same in the concept of the shaudow of pole, but worse in the direction of sun’s ray. 2. For the spatial conception: lots of students had the alternative conception in the direction of sun’s ray, temperature of the surface, and the elevation angle of sun. 3. For the rotation of the earth: lots of students had the alternative conception in the position of moon on the same day at different time. 4. For the revolution around the sun: lots of students had the alternative conception in the length of day and night, and seasonal variations. 5. Students performed better in the concept of rotation than revolution for the earth. 6. Learning the conception of earth motion based on the spatial conception, but students who owned the spatial conception, didn’t correspond to the though of experts. 7. Teachers should guide students’ experience of the spatial conception in order to connect the new curriculum and increase the effect while teaching the earth motion. 蘇偉昭 2002 學位論文 ; thesis 206 zh-TW
