Summary:碩士 === 國立屏東師範學院 === 教育心理與輔導研究所 === 90 === The purpose of this study was to investigate:(1)the process of Career Exploration Group Counseling;(2)the immediate effectiveness of Career Exploration Group Counseling in improving children’s vocational self-concept and career awareness ability;(3)the follow-up effectiveness of Career Exploration Group Counseling in improving children’s vocational self-concept and career awareness ability;(4)the factors of making the counseling effective. The pretest-posttest equivalent-group design was used in the study. The subjects of this study consisted of a selection of twenty fourth- graders from an elementary school in Pingtung. The subjects were divided into two groups by random assignment: i.e., ten subjects in the experiment group which received Career Exploration Group Counseling that run through around one thousand and forty minutes, and ten subjects in the control group which received no treatment at all. The study employed “Children Vocational Self-concept Scale ”and “Children Career Awareness Ability Scale” to conduct pretest, posttest, and follow-up measures. The data was analyzed by using the analysis of covariance . The process of group counseling was audio and video recorded. The records of the counseling process, the subjects’ feedback and interview, observation made by the subjects’ teacher, and the researcher’s journal were also collected and used to cross-verify the results of this study. The results of this study are summarized as follows: (1)During the initial stage, subjects keeping it secret in group, understanding of the goal of group counseling, and vending their thought were helpful in making the counseling more effective. (2)During the middle stage, the movement between leader and subjects, and the centripetal force among the subjects were helping in making the counseling more effective. (3)During the last stage, activity of all sorts, and subjects participate in group ardently were helping in making the counseling more effective. (4)A variety of cognitive, affective, and behavioral techniques used by the researcher were helping in making the counseling more effective. (5)Career Exploration Group Counseling was found to improve children’s vocational self-concept and career awareness ability ,and the subjects which in the experiment group is better than the control group. (6)The factors of designing activity and counseling process making the counseling more effective. (7)Every subject has good counseling effect universal, and had positive effect of the vocational self-concept and career awareness ability. Implications for counseling and further research were discussed. Key words: Career Exploration Group Counseling, Vocational Self-concept, Career Awareness Ability.
