Abstract
The first purpose of this study is to explore the relation between the organizational communication and morale in junior high school of Kaohsiung City and Kaohsiung County. The second is to investigate the situation of the organizational communication and morale in junior high school of Kaohsiung City. At last, based on research findings, some proposals for improving the management of school administration are presented.
To accomplish the purposes, through the result of literature review the investigator has concluded 5 domains of organizational communication in school and 4 domains of teachers’morale, and according to its contents to compile ’’Questionnaire to Survey the organizational communication behaviors in junior high school’’ and ’’ Questionnaire to Survey the teachers’morale in junior high school’’ to study current situation of Kaohsiung City and Kaohsiung County.
The objects of this study are school staffs of public junior high school in Kaohsiung City and Kaohsiung County. A total of 48 schools and 454 effective samples were acquired. And these data were analyzed by using the method of statistics including: mean and standard deviation, percentage analysis, ANOVA, Schffee, Pearson correlation analysis, canonical analysis, and stepwise multiple regression analysis method.
From the data of literature review and questionnaire, the conclusions are as follows:
1. The teachers in junior high school are not satisfied with current situation of organizational communication behaviors among the teachers.
2. The teachers in junior high school think that the morale of teachers in junior high school should be promoted gradually.
3. The teachers in junior high school think that female teachers, teachers serve as both a teacher and administrator, and senior teachers have better organizational communication behaviors.
4. Female teachers, teachers serve as both a teacher and administrator, teachers of higher educational background , senior teachers ,teachers work in middle-sized schools, and teachers work in Kaohsiung City have higher morale.
5. The better organizational communication behaviors the teachers in junior high school have, the higher morale the teachers have.
6. The background variables and communication behaviors of teachers in junior high school can predict the morale of the teachers.
According to conclusion of this study, the investigator proposes the following suggestions:
1. Seek the opinion of the teachers, and make the common consensus among the teachers to improve the communication behaviors of teachers.
2. Improve the leadership ability of administrators in school, and provide the good facilities to lift the morale of the teachers.
3. Reduce the burden of the teachers, and enhance the communication among the administrators in school.
4. Provide the educational facilities that has arrived in good condition, and encourage the teachers to advance in study to raise the degree of the teachers´ satisfaction in communication.
5. Show concern about the needs of the teachers, and enhance the communication between administrators and teachers to encourage the morale of the teachers.
6. Communicate with the teachers actively, and promote the function of conference in school to encourage the teachers to participate school affairs.
