Abstract
The purposes of this study were to identify students with reading disabilities by using the VAIL model for a Functional Academic Assessment(simplified as the VAIL model)﹐to develop reading intervention projects for students with reading disabilities﹐and to evaluate if the reading intervention project worked out. This study tried to evaluate two students in an ordinary class in an elementary school for their bad performance in Chinese. The results indicated as follows:
1.By using the VAIL model the researcher could identify students with
reading disabilities.
2. By using the VAIL model the researcher could develop reading
intervention projects for students with reading disabilities.
3.The intervention projects for students with reading disabilities worked
out.
