碩士 === 國立高雄師範大學 === 地理學系 === 90 === The Shuang-lian-pyi valley locates in the mountain area of Yuan-san county, I-lan Hsien. The Shuang-lian-pyi valley is an flat paleochannel, which is between the valley of Tsu-keng river and Wuu-shyr river. The east side of Shuang-lian-pyi is higher than the west , and the north side is higher than the south. Based on the former research, there was once an lake in the valley of Wuu-shyr river，proved by the lacustrine sediments spread on the Jeou-chyong-lin and Diaw-bao-keng。 The research clarifies which river basin the Shuang-lian-pyi valley belongs, by investigation of flow direction of paleochannels, the causes and ranges of the lake。The research finds that the Shuang-lian-pyi valley was belonged to the valley of Wuu-shyr river。 The causes of changed flow direction and landforms are: a lake basin formed near the Jeou-chyong-lin by the regional tectonics movement, water flow eastward out of the Shuang-lian-pyi valley, and the sediments of Wuu-shyr river accumulated on the east side of Shuang-lian-pyi valley, which makes the valley insolated from the Wuu-shyr river。Then, the lake of Jeou-chyong-lin flood out and made the Wuu-shyr river quickly incison. The Shuang-lian-pyi valley was infill by the sediments. Due to the sediments came from the north, the north side of the valley is higher than the south.
