碩士 === 國立高雄師範大學 === 地理學系 === 90 === Aiming to explore to what extent a recreation interpretation impact tourists, this thesis develops on the basis of analyzing the research data collected from 4 tours in the Salt Belt of Tainan County. In the first section, the context and the present situation of recreation interpretation along with the interviews with interpreters in the Salt Belt are presented and considered important of the interpreters background information. Another focus is the issue of specific interpretative style in each interpreter. Some factors, such as an interpreter’s background and his or her presentation skills, characterize an interpretation and cause different reactions from each attendant. This leads to the assumptions: an interpretation embodies the values and spirit of an interpreter; it is also relevant with his or her environmental attitudes and identities with a place. The thesis moves further to clarify how recreation interpretation causes great impact on tourists. Generally, recreation interpretation reinforces tourists’ images of a place by providing more input. In view of recreational experience, tourists benefit in experiencing organized, instructive, interesting way of traveling. They not only gain development on a personal, cultural, and environmental level but also cultivate a sense of place.
