Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立高雄第一科技大學 === 風險管理與保險所 === 90 === ABSTRACT Motor insurance is the highest-weighted among all non-life lines in respect of both written premium and claim volume, which explains why Motor is the most competitive one among all lines. We expect the de-regulation following gradual opening steps by our government of liberalization on rate and participating WTO to bring a more functional market. The market is trying to get rid of a mainly price competition in the past that we believe jeopardize the running of business and eventually risk the liquidity of company. The resolution for non-life insurance companies is to have a healthy business structure and sieve the bad quality clients. The author uses the GLM(General Linear Model)and Categorical Model to analyze possible influences on claims of Voluntary Motor business and confirm the following factors do have impact on loss ratio including areas, individual drivers, claim years, business sources, coverage, car models, manufacturing years, numbers of cylinder, manufacturers, sexes, drinking. We apply the conclusion of our analysis trying to find a strategy for running the motor business healthily by increasing the profitability and reducing the acquisition costs. We expect to have intensive competition capabilities as the rate is liberalized in the future.
