(2) the residents’ attitude toward the future regional development. (3) the relation of the residents’ attitude toward all the development dimensions. (4) the influence of different background variance in residents’ demands for community development. (5) the difference of different background variance in residents’ demands for community development. The methods adopted in this research were literature analysis and questionnaire survey, and the research instrument was “The survey of residents’ attitude toward the regional development in Hedekanan”. The subjects were 182 residents in Hedekanan. The collected data analyzed by descriptive statistics, Pearson’s product-moment correlation, Chi square, t-test, and one-way ANOVA. The results of this study are as follows: (1) Hedekanan was rose and developed because of the advantages of geographic environment and sea and inland transportation. Afterwards, Hedekanan lost the location-specific advantage, and decayed. Now, Hedekanan is infused with new functions, influenced by tourism, and strides forward next stage. (2) Residents in Hedekanan have high demands for the community development, especially for the industry development dimension. (3) Age, occupation, the length of residence, the reason of residence influence the residents’ demands in 4 development dimensions. (4) Age influences the residents’ demands in 4 dimensions; occupation influences the residents’ demands in industry development dimension and community renewal dimension; and the reason of residence influences the residents’ demands in infrastructure dimension. (5) Residents hope to develop tourism in Hedekanan by improving the interior environment.
