On the other hand, another saying goes like that” mighty soldiers have a capable commander.” Under the logic of this saying, “soldiers” would be the main source and the “commander” is just used to expose the excellence of his soldiers.”Mr. Kelley (1992) thinks excellent followers naturally make their extraordinary commander. By the same token, the key to a leader’s or an organization’s success actually depends on whether the followers can effectively express their wisdom and capability.In the past, many studies have explored the field of the efficiency of a leader, but very few to discover the importance of the role of the followers.This study, referring to Mr. Kelley’s Independent Thinking and Active Participation, generalizes five types of followers to discuss three phrases: the evaluation on the Army captain by the NCO and privates of his company, loyalty to their leader, and loyalty to their unit. Survey has been done with 9 basic companies. There are 317 effective copies of the survey. After data analysis, this study discovers: (1) There are differences between various kinds of followers on the evaluations towards their leaders. (2) The correlation between the evaluation toward the leader and the loyalty to the leader is higher than that between the evaluation toward the leader and the loyalty to the Organization.
