We use temperature compensated capacitor to design this VCO. The simulated results based on Microwave Office and measured oscillator frequency agrees excellently.
The measured results show that the maximum oscillator output power is 13dBm and the bandwidth from 2.37GHz to 2.95GHz. The phase noise at 100KHz offset is —87dBc/Hz. The frequency offset is 0.5MHz when room temperature from to . It is feasible to product large volume, low cost S-band VCO for commercial application.
