Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立交通大學 === 資訊科學系 === 90 === ABSTRACT Water plays an essential role in expression of Chinese Ink Paintings, such as some simple effects of dense brush and dry brush, and various kinds of shape and color intensity of strokes after ink diffused in the paper. Varied kinds of strokes can be implemented by controlling water in different ways. Simulation of water behavior is among the most challenging aspects in the field of computer graphics due to water’s multiformity and complex patterns of motion. Although simulation of ink diffusion in the paper has been researched in computer graphics a long time ago, methods for simulating complex effects of ink diffusion have not been proposed and the simulated images are not realistic enough. In the thesis, we present a method to simulate the ink diffusion effects based on observation and analysis of the physical phenomenon. Using this method, we can simulate various expressions of tones on different kinds of paper. The effect of mixture of simulated strokes in different kinds of brushes is one of the important contributions in our method.
