Several standards for VoIP (Voice over IP) signaling protocol have been developed by IETF and ITU-T. One of them is MGCP (Media Gateway Control Protocol). This protocol has simple message commands. In this thesis we describe a VoIP system simulator based on MGCP. In our implementation, components of a MGCP system and the call control process can be display on a PC screen on a graphic user interface. The simulator uses the CCL’s MGCP stack and can emulate hardware devices. Using the GUI (Graphical User Interface), users can instantiate components of MGCP system easily. The MGCP simulator also shows the call processes, such that users can understand the architecture of the MGCP system and the concept of VoIP more easily.
