The author choose this issue related to the Pan-KMT Alliance to understand the reasons that the Pan-KMT Alliance need to form a coalition and has the difficulties in process of coalition. By the study, the two reasons that make KMT divided and problems in intra-party democracy are improved. It is necessary to analyze electoral experiences at the past because the Pan-KMT Alliance need to form a coalition to avoid their division in election, and then probably lose the election. This study examines the reasons that affect the coalition of the Pan-KMT Alliance, such as electoral system, electoral behavior, and partisan interaction. The factor of electoral system means the limitations of partisan systems. Party interaction includes historical experiences, party cohesion, and candidates. Electoral behavior includes electoral strategies and electoral culture. This study will provides several suggestions according to these reasons.
