碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 建築學系碩博士班 === 90 === While the information technology is rising and flourishing, architectural space and architectural design will definitely have a new revolution. Architectural design will no longer be the play of mass in light, but the play of digital information in physical space. In order to use the information as the new element of space design, we must release the digital information from the small desktop monitor, draw the computing out of their electric shells, and integrate the computing into our daily lives. In the idea of “Ubiquitous Computing”, the new type of human computer interaction must combine with architectural design and information design. Spaces created through the integrated design are called “Interactive Space”. This research is trying to explore the change of architectural space design caused by the information technology. Through the new technology such as videoconferencing, voice recognition, and gesture recognition, etc, the research is also trying to find the new possibility of interaction between human and digital information in architectural space. Besides, the design principles and design framework of interactive spaces are also be explored. This work is developed through four stages. In the first stage, the related research and design projects are introduced to discuss the method of integrated design of information and architectural spaces. After adding the concern of environmental cognition, the research establish a model supporting the design of interactive spaces, and formulate the design principles of interactive space. In the second stage, all the design principles formulated from the first stage are used to proceed a series of design practices, In the third stage, physical space factors, information space factors and cognitive space factors are introduced as the framework to analyze all the interactive space design projects. And relations between these three space factors in different projects are important basis for exploiting the design of interactive spaces. In the forth stage, a final design project is created as a prototype for the interactive space. The methodology of integrated design of interactive space is a relation managing between physical space, information space, and cognitive space. In order to seamlessly integrate them into the architectural design, the research is trying to establish the criteria for the design of interactive space.
