| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 建築學系碩博士班 === 90 === Urban landscape is an import visual form to reflect the spatial characteristics of a city, and it consists the spatial cognition of the residents. As the development of science and technology, humans extend the lives from the physical space to the cyberspace, and via the non–physicality, users can access the city information and create new city experience without the constraints of time and space. This thesis is aimed to transform the city information into “Information Landscape” by the digital geography, and help the users get new cognitive experiences and extend the space and activities of the city.
The purpose of this thesis is to discuss the process of how users creating the city experience in Information Landscape, which contains the physical space and geography, by setting the city information in a digital space, analyzing the relationship between information, space, time, activities and users, presenting the character of city geography, and the differences of users’ cognitions.
The procedure of a digital city is to integrate the various conditions of Information Landscape by the digitalization of city information, i.e., collecting city information, and considering of the position of interface, the structure of the system, the city geography, and the method of operation. Therefore the digital city information will become the Information Landscape. The “Digital Tainan” is constructed as a demonstration and the information will be updated by the user responses.
In the process of constructing “Digital Tainan”, its position is culture and learning, and it is constructed by the method of city geography, transformation of elements, role-play, scenario, multimedia design interface, and information bank. Hence it can reflect the various interactions between the users and the physical city, the uniqueness of cognitive experience, and the real time of city information, to reach the purpose of information interaction.
Information Landscape is a concept, an interface, and a system of constructing a digital city by integrating the three dimensions of the digital city, i.e., concept, process, and system in this thesis. Via Information Landscape and the transformation of the physical city into the digital one can abstract the city information and enhance the users’ understanding. This thesis should provide a new direction toward the digital city, and extend the space and activities of the city.
